I’ve Cleaned Jacobs Ladder

For a great many years as a mountain biker, riding up Jacobs Ladder from the bridge GR SK 088 861 to the end of the difficulties SK 082 862 has been considered to be one of the great “ticks” for a cyclist and rightly so. I’ve got so close many times though that was a good few years ago.

Success this weekend.

A new angle was needed though.

Hayfield to Edale via the Roych, Rushup Edge, Chapel Gate, Barber Booth, and back via Jacobs, Edale Cross and Hayfield.

My new Walshes rock.

A route that should have a bike vs runner race for sure.

Kinder Downfall 2008

Kinder Downfall race route

The first fell race I’ve done in years backed by some running training. I set off hard as I dared, and tried to keep the pace up. Pleased to have finished in the middle of the field, rather than at the back of it.

I nearly feel inspired to do a bit more training. 3 races one after the other next in May on the 16,17,18th to look forward to next.

Good to see Steve there, and him having a good run too.

Nice hat eh ?

Back to doing big miles on the bike the next few weekends in preparation for a decent solo ride at Mountain Mayhem
